Joe Garvey is a songwriter from London. He is currently taking a break from his career as an artist to write for others – his writing is hook-laden, earnest and modern in style. He’s currently collaborating, writing with and producing for artists including Azu Yeche, Nick Howe and Ronnie Maurice amongst others.

As an artist, Joe’s original material blends funk, soul, jazz and rock influences with his love of classic, concise song-writing. During his 5-year career with his 4-piece band (guitar, keys, bass, drums) he’s repeatedly proven his ability to stop conversation and engage crowds at even the noisiest venues in London and across the UK.

His first EP (released December 2015) won him support from Frank Turner, who also commended the authenticity of his rangy, vibrato-laden voice. A nomination for Best Male in the Best Of British Unsigned Awards followed, alongside numerous sold out gigs across London at the Underbelly and Betsey Trotwood alongside headline appearances at Kensington Roof Gardens and Ronnie Scott’s.

Joe released his debut single ‘What Your Time Is Worth’ in June 2018. Blogs commented:

“Total dance anthem” – BBC Introducing

“Perhaps the song of the summer” – Get Some Magazine

“The songwriting is 10/10” – Rock the Pigeon

“A perfect tune for the Summer” – Velvety

“Verified funkified” – The Dutch Guy

Joe will be releasing more original material in future.
